BGL Group, one of the UK’s largest personal-lines insurers serving over 4.6 million customers, expanded its infrastructure with new IBM Power Systems and AIX blade servers alongside existing IBM i systems. The IT team needed an enterprise-wide, cross-platform monitoring solution to give a single integrated view and early notification of issues to support rapid online growth and maintain critical business processes.
BGL deployed Halcyon Network Server Suite alongside its existing Halcyon Operations Center, initially as SaaS and later under an enterprise license, using native AIX agents and a unified Enterprise Console. The implementation automated scheduling and recovery tasks, consolidated multiple consoles into one, provided real-time email/SMS alerts, improved application availability and performance, boosted IT productivity, and delivered a clear return on investment.
