Southwestern Motor Transport (SMT) is a regional carrier serving the eastern U.S. (direct to 14 states) and, via partners, Mexico, Canada and the rest of the country. Facing millions of transaction records and five years of history in their Ayers Rock/IBM System i databases, SMT needed a fast, flexible way to summarize and analyze data without time-consuming extracts, datamarts or predefined drill paths.
