Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Ensures Reliability Across Radio Network with Intermapper

Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, which covers roughly 1,767 square miles of California wine country and serves 500,000 residents and nearly seven million annual visitors, needed reliable communications for deputies, dispatch, Fire/EMS and other agencies. Its TCOMM Bureau manages a complex network of more than 400 devices—including switches, IP cameras, microwave radio links and in‑vehicle laptops—across 15 remote sites, where even brief outages can affect public safety.

The department deployed Intermapper (with Remote Access and Flows), using automatic discovery, hierarchical maps, custom probes and targeted alerts to monitor niche equipment and real‑time traffic. As a result, all 400+ devices at 15 sites are monitored in real time, troubleshooting is faster with fewer site visits, uptime and network visibility have improved, and management gains clear, actionable network insights.
