A Fortra Case Study
Simcona Electronics, a Rochester, NY–based distributor founded in 1962, faced rising costs and inefficiencies from paper invoices, reports and forms, plus limited IT staff to modernize distribution and data access. Producing professional-looking documents was cumbersome, employees and customers needed easier access to different data assets, and postage and paper expenses were significant.
Simcona deployed SEQUEL (ViewPoint and Web Interface) together with ESEND to automate electronic report production and distribution. The change cut paper-based monthly reports by 90%, saved about $7,000 a year in postage (and roughly $2,000 on printed forms), improved document appearance, enabled web dashboards and mobile access for employees and customers, and reduced report development time from hours to minutes.
