SEQUEL Streamlines Data Access at Fremont Insurance Company

Fremont Insurance Company, founded in 1876 and serving Michigan policyholders, needed to streamline access to its IBM System i data to support claims, audits, and daily operations while maintaining a retention rate above 91%. Manual processes—like typing and mailing claim acknowledgements and hunting down bad data—were time-consuming and error-prone, creating a clear need for faster, more reliable data-driven workflows.

Fremont implemented SEQUEL, Help/Systems’ BI solution for System i, giving 50+ users self-service views and reports, join updates, date conversion, report formatting, and a nightly job scheduler. SEQUEL automates up to 100 claim acknowledgements per day, generates audit spreadsheets, locates and fixes bad data, and runs against over a million records—cutting report turnaround times to about a quarter of previous effort, reducing errors, and significantly improving operational efficiency.
