Foodservice Resources and Solutions (FRS) is a fourth‑generation restaurant equipment supplier with four showrooms across the Carolinas that has relied on an IBM System i (AS/400) for core order-entry, financial and inventory data. As transaction volume and reporting needs grew, FRS struggled with time-consuming nightly processes, manual query and RPG report development, and high reporting overhead across multiple branches.
FRS implemented SEQUEL from Help/Systems—using ViewPoint, client tables, scripts and dashboards—to centralize and speed data access and reporting. The change let them run updates once for all branches, build ad‑hoc and automated reports (over 50 PDFs emailed nightly), replace printed reports with dashboards, and rapidly create customized views; the result was faster reporting, lower costs and staffing needs, and improved financial and operational visibility.
