A Fortra Case Study
Robbins Sports Surfaces, a long-established leader in indoor sports flooring, faced a major IT challenge when it upgraded its Infor BPCS ERP to ERP LX V8.3—a broad conversion that changed master files and report structures. With a small IT team supporting about 60 users, Robbins needed a reliable way to validate the conversion, upgrade numerous reports, automate customer documents, and maintain accurate operational controls (for example, verifying lumber deliveries).
Robbins standardized on Sequel Data Access and Sequel Viewpoint to solve these problems: scripts and views automated PDF document generation (overlaying the Robbins logo), monitored output queues to create and store customer documents, converted spooled files into database records, and ran simple views to validate converted data and reconcile ledgers. The solution also automated lumber-measure verification, saving money, simplified training and support, and enabled plans for a Sequel-driven data warehouse and dashboards—reducing third-party tools and improving reporting, visibility, and process efficiency.
