Robot Products Help American Hotel Register Company Supply The World

American Hotel Register Company, founded in 1865 and now a global supplier of hospitality products, relied on partitioned IBM Power Systems and an AS/400 to run its operations. As message traffic and manual system monitoring grew, the IT team struggled with fragmented alerts, multiple shifts, and limited visibility into who responded to incidents—creating a need for centralized, automated monitoring across partitions.

They implemented HelpSystems’ Robot suite (Robot SCHEDULE, CONSOLE, NETWORK, ALERT) with OPAL and message sets to consolidate alerts to a single workstation, provide pop-up/audible notifications, and route critical messages to mobile devices and distribution lists. The result was "lights-out" automation: daily events reduced to about 100, shifts cut from three to two, faster response and fewer errors, improved tracking of responders and response times, and more staff time for projects—backed by strong vendor support.
