Seneca Gaming Corporation (SGC), the tribally chartered arm of the Seneca Nation that operates multiple casinos, hotels and resorts, runs a large IBM i high-availability environment that supports all property operations. Faced with stringent regulatory requirements (Seneca Gaming Authority, SOX, PCI, NIGC) and the need for stronger internal controls, auditing and system visibility, SGC needed to secure critical IBM i systems and prove compliance despite a limited pool of IBM i security expertise.

SGC adopted HelpSystems’ Powertech suite—starting with a Security Scan and consultant guidance, then deploying Compliance Monitor, Authority Broker, Exit Point Manager and the SIEM Agent—while formalizing security policies and integrating reports with its help desk. The solution enabled proactive self-auditing, real-time monitoring and controlled privileged access, producing a clear security roadmap, faster audit preparedness and improved visibility into high-risk user and network activity.
