A Fortra Case Study
Polaris Industries, a leading manufacturer of ATVs, snowmobiles, RANGER utility vehicles and Victory motorcycles, was running extensive MAPICS ERP and MRP processes on IBM System i servers and relied on manual job kicks by operators. With hundreds of nightly, weekly and month-end jobs plus SOX reporting and real-time interfaces to other systems, Polaris faced staffing inefficiencies, manual-entry errors, and a need for reliable, auditable scheduling.
Polaris implemented HelpSystems’ Robot SCHEDULE along with Robot REPLAY, CONSOLE and ALERT to automate 350–400 jobs using event-driven, group and reactive scheduling and automated error handling. The result: around-the-clock processing with fewer operators (reduced from six to two for the System i environment), fewer manual errors, faster paging of programmers for issues, redeployed staff to higher-value roles, and automated SOX and auditor reporting—improving efficiency, reliability and compliance.
