NAFECO, a U.S. supplier of firefighting, law enforcement, safety and EMS equipment, was hampered by an aging document management system that had a clunky interface, repeatedly corrupted metadata indexes and required monthly overnight re-indexing. Routine tasks like setting up new documents were slow and difficult, forcing extra scanner purchases and consuming IT time.
NAFECO implemented HelpSystems’ Webdocs integrated with their VAI S2K ERP, using HelpSystems’ Professional Services for a smooth rollout. Webdocs’ intuitive interface and multiple capture options (including desktop scanning) allowed departments—Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Shipping—to scan and access documents more easily, saving the accounting team 1–2 hours per day and enabling plans to expand the solution across the company.
