A Fortra Case Study
Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU), a large Los Angeles–based credit union, was repeatedly targeted by phishing campaigns, brand-domain spoofing and executive impersonation that led members—including some elderly and less tech-savvy customers—to surrender credentials and suffer financial loss. These attacks eroded trust and overwhelmed the credit union’s support channels, prompting leadership to prioritize email security.
LAFCU deployed Agari DMARC Protection and completed its DMARC journey to p=reject within five months, enabling rapid identification of illegitimate mail. Post-enforcement results include a 95% reduction in phishing on the primary domain, 99.7% of emails now legitimate, and a sustained Trust Score of 100—freeing IT leadership to focus on broader risk management and giving the board clearer visibility into email risk.
