Case Study: US Legislative Body achieves proactive IT performance and fewer service interruptions with Fortra's Vityl Capacity Management

Preview of the US Legislative Body Case Study

Legislature Uses Capacity Planning Software to Optimize IT Services

A local legislative body’s MIS director and a six-person team were overwhelmed by a user-to-IT ratio of over 70:1 and constant firefighting. Repeated service interruptions, slowdowns and undiagnosed performance complaints stalled planned projects (IP phones, webcasts, service-call database) because the team lacked the tools to pinpoint whether issues were server-, network- or user-caused.

After a proof of concept, the legislature deployed Vityl Capacity Management with a network application agent to see per-user and per-application resource consumption. The team could now identify bandwidth hogs (streaming audio/video), distinguish user vs. server problems, produce reports for managers, and proactively fix issues before they affected users—improving application availability, customer service, and freeing time for future projects.
