A Fortra Case Study
Roland Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of a leading electronic musical instrument manufacturer, employs about 165 people and sells keyboards, guitars, amplifiers and recording gear. The company was burdened by paper—over 200,000 pages of legal documents and more than 11,000 files in cabinets—making document search slow, loaned‑instrument tracking difficult, storage costly, and JSOX compliance cumbersome.
Roland implemented HelpSystems’ Webdocs to capture and index document images (via manual keys, bar codes or text extraction) and provide browser access worldwide. The system sped retrieval, improved tracking of instrument loans (reducing inventory costs), streamlined claims processing, and strengthened document security and compliance—delivering daily time and cost savings, according to Roland’s IT director.
