Napa Recycling and Waste Services (NRWS) provides recycling, waste collection and composting services across Napa County, supporting the region’s wineries and tourism while exceeding California recycling goals. During an SAS 70 audit, CFO Mike Murray discovered gaps in NRWS’s transaction security and sought a specialist to remediate security policy and access-control weaknesses tied to their Softpak-powered systems.
HelpSystems conducted a comprehensive vulnerability assessment and onsite review (led by security expert Carol Woodbury) and implemented Powertech Risk Assessor and Policy Minder for IBM i. The tools and accompanying remediation, training and documentation closed the IBM i security gaps, delivered audit-ready reports, established a new security plan, and brought NRWS into compliance with PCI DSS.
