HelpSystems Helps International Rectifier Tackle Critical SOX Issues

International Rectifier (IR), a global leader in power management with about 5,400 employees and $1B in revenue, faced mounting Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements that made data integrity and matching security policies between its partitioned IBM i production and backup servers critical. IT staff were spending excessive time syncing security settings and generating SOX compliance reports.

IR deployed HelpSystems’ Risk Assessor and Policy Minder for IBM i after a successful trial, which produced automated risk analyses (identifying issues like 500 files with incorrect owners and 114 long-inactive profiles) and enforced security policies across systems. Policy Minder automatically disables inactive profiles, enforces file and command restrictions, alerts on unauthorized objects, and lets IR copy policies to its backup server—streamlining SOX reporting, cleaning up user profiles, and significantly reducing compliance effort and risk.
