HelpSystems Automates Report Delivery at Ullico

Ullico Insurance, a Washington, D.C.–based insurer serving union members with about 270 employees, faced a growing burden from paper-based report distribution. Its IBM i group administration system produced roughly 900 reports monthly (many with multiple recipients), and manual printing, mailing and storage were time-consuming, costly and prone to misfiling.

HelpSystems’ Deliver Now automated Ullico’s report workflow by monitoring the IBM i output, applying filters, converting reports to formats like PDF, and placing them in a network folder structure that the intranet and BEA AquaLogic portal use to present links to users. The solution eliminated paper costs and misdirected or misplaced reports, reduced physical storage needs, made delivery transparent to end users, enabled external distribution, and is being rolled out to additional systems.
