Fletcher Modernizes Document Management with HelpSystems

J.H. Fletcher & Co., a Huntington, West Virginia–based maker of underground mining equipment since 1937 and the world’s largest manufacturer of production roof‑bolting machines, faced an urgent document-management problem: its imaging and storage software was obsolete, its scanning client only ran on an out‑of‑date OS, and it could not add modern scanning workstations. Fletcher needed a replacement that solved immediate compatibility issues and would be able to meet future, unforeseen requirements.

Fletcher implemented HelpSystems’ Webdocs (IBM i version) and iForms to capture IBM i spool files, scans, emails and PC files, associate searchable keys and store invoices and accounts‑payable documents centrally. iForms merges green‑screen data into laser‑printable forms (enabling barcoding) that are saved in Webdocs, eliminating paper, improving retrieval and productivity, and giving Fletcher a supported, future‑ready platform for further process improvements.
