A Fortra Case Study
Enterprise Holdings, parent of Enterprise Rent‑A‑Car and other major brands with $16.4B in revenue and a 1.4M‑vehicle fleet, struggled with slow, error‑prone capacity and performance forecasting. Quarterly and annual forecasts were built manually in Excel/Access, relied on inaccurate linear trending, consumed dozens of staff hours, and lacked clear alignment to business metrics like cars rented per hour and cost per transaction.
EHI implemented Vityl Capacity Management to automate collection from PostgreSQL and AIX sources, correlate transactional (business) data to resource usage, apply overrides and event tags, and model cyclical monthly growth. The result was standardized, more accurate forecasting with daily/weekly reports, better CapEx timing and proactive problem detection—saving 30–40+ hours per report, 3–4 hours per person through automated data collection, and substantially reducing staff time while improving forecast quality.
