Ellis Medicine Improves Operations and Centralizes Data with RPA

Ellis Medicine, a large healthcare system in Albany, NY, faced integration problems after adopting a new point-of-sale system (InfoGenesis) that didn’t easily connect with payroll, HR, and other critical systems. Custom scripts proved too time‑consuming and fragile, and third‑party vendor data was decentralized, creating a labor‑intensive payroll deduct and data‑movement challenge across multiple departments.

Ellis implemented Automate Plus from HelpSystems to replace custom scripting with API‑connected bots, automating 65 processes across IT, accounting, human resources, and revenue cycle functions. With five bots in production, they reclaimed an estimated 750–1,000 hours in accounting (automating journal entries), eliminated lengthy manual workflows, enabled staff to focus on higher‑value work, and are expanding automation across the organization.
