A Fortra Case Study
California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS), which supports retirement benefits for more than 800,000 educators and is used by about 900 employees, needed real-time visibility into a predominantly Cisco network to ensure bandwidth stability and shorten time-to-resolution. With 180 devices across headquarters, remote offices and a disaster recovery site, the organization required alerts and easy-to-understand diagnostics to quickly identify and address outages or performance problems.
CalSTRS implemented InterMapper for its affordability, multi-platform client, and graphical live maps. InterMapper’s probes poll devices twice a minute to monitor IP SLA, CPU, memory, power and more; customizable alerts and drill-down maps let technicians pinpoint issues across 10–12 maps and 180 devices, delivering faster troubleshooting, real-time diagnostics, and more reliable network performance for critical services.
