Automate Schedule and SCI Scheduling Power into the Future

Service Corporation International (SCI), a North American leader in funeral services with over 1,800 locations and 20,000 employees, needed reliable, around-the-clock IT operations to support its core business applications. Their Houston data center runs complex, cross-platform job processing—nightly batches, about 250 interface jobs, and financial jobs—creating a challenge to manage more than 350 jobs on six servers and ensure timely file-based dependencies and SOX-compliant audit logs.

SCI implemented HelpSystems’ Automate Schedule across Windows, UNIX, and Linux, testing then moving roughly 350 production jobs onto six servers. The scheduler simplified file-watcher dependencies, improved alerts and audit logging, reduced manual monitoring, and increased control and user satisfaction—delivering 24/7 support for SCI’s critical applications and streamlining operations across the enterprise.
