Automate Eliminates SYSPRO Night Duty for Lab Products Manufacturer

World Precision Instruments (WPI), a Florida manufacturer of more than 5,000 laboratory tools, relied on SYSPRO ERP to run 25 nightly and over 75 monthly accounting and production reports that must finish before nightly backups. Because reports could only be run after hours, five to six employees were on call each night—connecting via VPN and manually triggering reports in sequence—which tied up staff time and personal lives.

WPI implemented HelpSystems’ Automate, allowing a non‑programmer IT specialist to build drag‑and‑drop workflows that launch SYSPRO at 7 p.m., run each report sequence, post PDFs to the intranet, and send phone alerts on failure. The solution now generates all reports automatically, saves roughly five hours nightly (plus three hours monthly), avoided costly custom coding, freed employees from night duty, and opened the door to further process automation.
