A Thirst for Efficiency Trinks Enlists CCSS for Effective Systems Management

Trinks, one of Germany’s leading beverage distributors with a EUR 1.0 billion turnover and a 275‑year history, needed to keep a complex, time‑sensitive IT landscape running with a small team of five. Its centrally controlled IBM System i environment supports critical apps (LFS 400, DCW/SAP, iTera HA) and some 600–700 user PCs plus 200 forklift‑mounted terminals across 16 distribution centres that each ship up to 100,000 units daily, so fast detection and resolution of outages or long‑running jobs is vital to avoid operational delays.

Trinks deployed CCSS’s QSystem Monitor, QMessage Monitor and QRemote Control (using MONCHKJCP for job checks) to monitor communications and job CPU/run‑time in real time, auto‑terminate stalled sessions, filter and escalate urgent messages, and allow secure remote fixes from mobile devices. The result: fewer investigations, faster reconnections for forklift operators, prevention of shipment delays and ramp queues, and sustained high availability and productivity managed efficiently by a small team.
