A Fortra Case Study
Magic Metals, a Washington-based sheet metal job shop and the largest in the Pacific Northwest, needed a way to automate daily and nightly Infor ERP VISUAL tasks but had an IT staff of one. The IT coordinator couldn’t spare time to write custom scripts to run job scheduling, costing and other utilities, yet manual execution required an hour a day or remote login—neither practical during the ERP deployment.
Using Automate’s plain-English, drag-and-drop task builder, Magic Metals created nine automation routines in about 30 minutes and avoided 4–6 weeks of coding. Automate now runs VISUAL scheduling, costing, disk checks, log purges and monthly reports, emails success/failure alerts, cuts roughly an hour of daily maintenance, improves reliability, and frees the IT manager for higher-value work.
