Enpal, a solar energy company, needed a more sustainable way to transport solar modules and storage systems from Asia to Germany. To address this challenge, it partnered with Forto and its sea freight and logistics platform services to support its self-managed ocean freight operations.

Forto implemented a biofuel-powered ocean transport solution for Enpal, combining 2nd generation biofuels with its digital logistics platform for shipment visibility and document management. The result was 100% reduction of related transport emissions for Enpal’s sea freight, with Forto’s biofuel cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 84% versus fossil marine fuels and using an over-allocation strategy to fully offset shipment carbon footprints.
