A Fortinet Case Study
Bialik College, a K–12 school in Hawthorn East, Australia serving about 1,060 students, struggled as the rapid rise of laptops, tablets and smartphones overwhelmed its wired infrastructure. The school needed flexible, campus-wide wireless access to support high device density and a bring-your-own-device environment without disrupting classes.
Working with Wavelink, Bialik deployed a Fortinet virtualized wireless LAN (MC4000 controllers and 26 APs) using Fortinet Virtual Cell technology to eliminate channel planning and allow full-power APs on the same channel. The in-house rollout took under a week and delivered reliable, high-performance connectivity for large simultaneous users, simplified management, reduced AP requirements, and freed students and teachers to learn and work anywhere on campus.
