Security-first Partnership Protects Customer Data for a Fast-growing Grocery Store Co-op

A fast-growing U.S. grocery store co-op that provides back-office services to hundreds of member stores needed to protect sensitive customer data and used a headquarters move as a greenfield opportunity to rethink its aging network. The CIO prioritized simplifying the security topology, reducing points of failure, and improving segmentation and centralized control so store and corporate systems handling customer information would be better isolated and protected.

Working with Vandis, the co-op deployed a Fortinet Security Fabric—FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer—to consolidate security, enforce network segmentation, and enable centralized management and automated threat blocking. The rollout was faster and more cost-effective than prior vendors’ estimates, reduced security tickets and alerts, lowered TCO, sped MSP response times, and increased the IT team’s confidence in the company’s data protection.
