Saudi Geological Survey Implements Network Access Control for Mobile Device Access

Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) is a government agency that conducts geological surveys and environmental monitoring across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with about 1,500 staff working from 18 locations and more than 4,000 endpoints. As BYOD, guest and contractor device use expanded, SGS relied on port-level security and manual provisioning and needed an automated solution that would provide full endpoint visibility, enforce compliance checks, and integrate with its proxy environment.

After a successful proof-of-concept, SGS implemented Fortinet Network Access Control across its Jeddah campus, chosen for ease of integration, cost and simplified management. The NAC deployment automated provisioning, ensured devices met security and patch requirements before access, exposed and removed under‑secured wireless access points, and delivered real-time visibility with automatic mitigation and quarantine—reducing IT workload and improving overall network security.
