Case Study: Sodexo secures nationwide VPN and reduces management overhead with Fortinet FortiGate

Relies on FortiGate solution for nation-wide VPN

Sodexo Nederland, part of the global Sodexo Group, operates 1,350 sites in the Netherlands with more than 6,200 employees and a web-based SAP purchasing system used across some 800 VPN‑linked sites, five offices and two data centers. Moving to a centrally accessed ordering platform improved operations but raised significant security risks and exposed shortcomings in the company’s existing security infrastructure.

Sodexo deployed Fortinet’s UTM solution—FortiGate‑1000A with FortiAnalyzer and FortiGuard—to consolidate firewalling, antivirus, antispam, intrusion prevention and SSL VPN services in a single high‑throughput appliance. The rollout delivered virtualized security domains, easier administration, comprehensive reporting and automatic updates; management overhead decreased, there have been no security incidents, and malware/spam problems were effectively eliminated.
