Case Study: Cub achieves a secure, high-performance digital transformation with Fortinet Security Fabric

A Fortinet Case Study

Preview of the Cub Case Study

Regional Supermarket Chain Builds Its Digital Transformation on the Fortinet Security Fabric

Cub is a regional grocery and pharmacy chain operating 80 stores in Minnesota and Illinois that faced an urgent need to separate and modernize its IT after beginning a divestiture from its former parent. Years of underinvestment left Cub with aging networks, unreliable public Wi-Fi, and limited visibility into security risks, prompting a holistic digital transformation to build a standalone, secure, high-performance infrastructure.

Working with MSP Acuative, Cub implemented the Fortinet Security Fabric — centered on FortiGate NGFWs, Secure SD‑WAN, FortiSwitch, FortiAP and centralized management (FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer) along with FortiNAC, FortiSIEM and FortiGuard services. The deployment delivered faster, reliable Wi‑Fi, improved employee productivity and customer experience, simplified management, greater threat visibility (about 2 million events analyzed monthly), faster rollouts, and a clear path to zero‑trust network access.
