A Fortinet Case Study
PTC, a Boston-based industrial software provider whose CAD and IoT tools power complex manufacturing and legacy machinery modernization, faced a growing network and security challenge. With 90 offices worldwide and a major shift to cloud and hybrid backups, its hub-and-spoke architecture and legacy firewalls became performance bottlenecks—causing latency at locations like its Corporate Experience Center and raising risk and trust concerns for customers.
PTC deployed FortiGate Secure SD‑WAN and Next‑Generation Firewalls with centralized Fabric Management to replace legacy appliances, combining networking and security in a single solution. The rollout removed bandwidth constraints, improved threat detection and visibility across ~70 sites, reclaimed two full‑time security roles from troubleshooting, and delivered higher end‑user productivity, stronger security posture, and a simpler, scalable infrastructure.
