Network Access Control Provides A Stronger Cyber Fence Around Iceland’s Airports

Isavia, Iceland’s national aviation authority headquartered at Reykjavík Airport, runs a nationwide network that supports airports and air traffic control as passenger volumes surge. With thousands of laptops, printers, cameras and other devices needing access across Keflavik, 15 domestic airports and multiple offices, Isavia needed clear visibility and strict control over what connects to its networks to protect critical infrastructure and maintain security standards.

Working with channel partner Khipu Networks, Isavia deployed Fortinet’s Network Access Control to identify every device, enforce access policies before connections are made, and automatically place devices on the correct VLAN. The solution delivers real-time network visibility, blocks unauthorized devices, speeds provisioning through plug‑and‑play profiles, reduces administrator workload, and measurably strengthened Isavia’s security posture while laying the groundwork for wireless/BYOD expansion and compliance checks.
