Nationwide Communications Provider Protects Hundreds of Thousands of Customers Efficiently and Effectively

Consolidated Communications, Inc. (CCI) is a nationwide broadband provider serving consumers and businesses across 24 states with a 36,000‑mile fiber network and roughly 4,000 employees. In response to escalating cyber threats, CCI set out to strengthen protection of its ISP infrastructure and branded email accounts, requiring solutions that could scale across a complex environment and pass a rigorous proof‑of‑concept evaluation.

After a six‑month POC, CCI deployed Fortinet solutions—FortiGate firewalls plus FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator and FortiADC—for perimeter defense, centralized management, analytics, MFA and load balancing. The implementation delivered stronger protection for hundreds of thousands of subscribers, seamless integration, improved visibility and operational efficiency, and responsive vendor support during rollout.
