Minsheng Bank - Customer Case Study

Minsheng Banking Corporation, a Beijing-based national joint‑stock commercial bank, needed to modernize its network to better serve small enterprises and high‑end retail clients. The bank faced a multi‑layered security challenge: build a secure sub‑intranet that protects core and financial systems while providing antivirus, antispam and web‑filtering across office and service networks.

Fortinet deployed FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager to segment service and OA networks, enforce access control at the IDC and branch level, and use HA clusters where availability is critical. FortiGate VPN concentrators replaced separate extranet gateways to secure partner and branch traffic and lower TCO, while AV/IPS at internet gateways blocked malware and external attacks. The result was stronger network segmentation and access control, secure data transmission between sites, reduced total cost of ownership, and improved availability and threat protection.
