Mexican Supermarket Chain Builds High-Availability Security Network to Support Growth

Súper Akí is a long-standing supermarket chain in southeast Mexico (53 stores plus 10 facilities across Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatán) that had rapidly modernized its operations but struggled with costly dedicated links, frequent outages, and limited automation as it expanded. The company needed a more secure, highly available and manageable network to support growth, e-commerce, digital payments and in-store services like guest Wi‑Fi.

Working with Fortinet and partner Conectividad, Súper Akí deployed the Fortinet Security Fabric—FortiGate NGFWs with Secure SD‑WAN, FortiAP, FortiSwitch, FortiAnalyzer, FortiVoice and FortiCare—to replace dedicated links with redundant internet VPNs and centralized management. The rollout delivered high availability across 63 sites, automated failover, PCI-compliant connectivity, up to 60% reduction in connectivity costs, faster threat visibility and centralized operations that reduced IT overhead and delivered a rapid return on investment.
