Leading Company Supplying the Health System in Argentina Boosts Network for Better Remote Work in a Crisis Situation

Propato, a leading medical-supplies distributor in Argentina with ~5,000 products and over 3,000 customers, faced a sudden COVID-19 surge that pushed 80% of its 250 employees to work remotely. With only the headquarters protected by a FortiGate firewall, the company struggled with unstable ISP links, frequent connection drops and insufficient capacity to support simultaneous remote access during critical supply and distribution operations.

Propato deployed FortiGate Secure SD-WAN, additional FortiGate NGFWs, FortiAnalyzer and FortiClient to standardize and secure its network. The solution balanced four ISP links, increased concurrent connection capacity, prioritized business‑critical traffic (video conferencing, RDP) and improved threat monitoring—resulting in seamless remote access, higher availability and security, and the ability to sustain large-scale operations such as nationwide syringe distribution.
