Karnataka Government WAN Delivers Reliable and Secure Digital Services with the Fortinet Security Fabric

Karnataka State Wide Area Network (KSWAN) provides secure LAN/WAN and internet connectivity to more than 7,000 government offices across 72 departments in Karnataka. Facing rising bandwidth needs for video, voice and data and an internet edge with encrypted traffic, KSWAN needed high-availability, bandwidth-on-demand connectivity and a firewall solution that could inspect SSL/TLS traffic without degrading network performance.

KSWAN deployed the Fortinet Security Fabric — FortiGate Next‑Generation Firewalls (including a centralized FortiGate 3100D), FortiAnalyzer, FortiSandbox and FortiToken — to enable high‑performance SSL/TLS inspection, centralized policy management, automated failover/traffic balancing and threat sandboxing. The solution delivered 99.9% uptime, reliable and secure delivery of internet, voice and video to all offices, centralized management that reduced cost and effort, and consistent, context-aware security across the state network and multi‑cloud environments.
