A Fortinet Case Study
Yew Chung International School, part of the Yew Chung Education Foundation, runs a large bilingual education network with 10 campuses in Hong Kong and over 3,000 users across global locations. With growing e-learning, IoT devices and distributed remote users, the school faced rising cyber threats and reliability problems from a router-centric hub-and-spoke WAN—frequent network hangs, single-point disruptions and an expanding attack surface made a comprehensive, scalable security and networking solution a priority.
The IT team deployed Fortinet Secure SD-WAN with FortiGate NGFW, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiGuard web filtering, using dual‑WAN load balancing and ADVPN for dynamic spoke-to-spoke tunnels and centralized policy automation. This consolidated approach delivered consistent edge-to-cloud security, simplified administration and two-factor VPN access, eliminated recurring outages and reboots, and improved uptime, stability and ease of upgrades across all campuses.
