How Thomas’s London Day Schools are Planning for the Future

Thomas’s London Day Schools is a group of four co-educational preparatory schools and a kindergarten serving about 1,950 pupils aged 2.5–13. The schools depend heavily on technology — hundreds of desktops and over 1,000 iPads plus staff devices — and were struggling with an aging, license‑based firewall setup that couldn’t scale, drove rising costs as device numbers grew, and left them non‑compliant with new Prevent and Ofsted requirements.

Thomas’s replaced its legacy stack with a single‑vendor Fortinet solution — FortiGate 300D with FortiManager 200D and FortiAnalyzer 400D — gaining centralized management, license‑free scalability and stronger visibility/control at the application level. The rollout restored compliance, reduced IT support and maintenance time, and gave the schools a future‑proof, expandable security architecture they can build on.
