A Fortinet Case Study
CASU (University Health Assistance Fund) is a private non-profit that provides health plans to UFMG employees—serving over 20,000 members with 130 staff across a headquarters, clinics and multiple service units. Moving critical applications and the member portal to Microsoft Azure created a hybrid-cloud environment that required 24x7 availability, better visibility, protection for Windows Virtual Desktop users, and compliance with Brazil’s LGPD.
Working with partner NOWCY, CASU deployed Fortinet solutions—including FortiGate-VM, Secure SD-WAN, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager and FortiGuard IOC—to secure servers, desktops and WVD sessions across regions. The implementation delivered network segmentation, encrypted-traffic inspection, unified cloud-to-branch connectivity, real-time monitoring via SOC, faster threat containment, improved availability and compliance, and reduced IT management time.
