A Fortinet Case Study
MICOOPE is Guatemala’s largest nonprofit credit union network, with about 300 branch locations, more than 2 million customers, and 200 branches with ATMs. As it shifted toward more digital services, widespread and intermittent network outages across its dispersed branches began disrupting branch and ATM operations and creating reputational risk.
Starting in 2020 MICOOPE migrated more than 250 branches to Fortinet’s FortiGate Secure SD-WAN, supported by FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer. The deployment delivered centralized visibility and management, multi‑WAN failover and VPN security, and scalable integration of additional services—resulting in 100% service availability, simpler operations, faster incident response, and smoother support for remote work.
