Grey County secures 100,000+ residents with Fortinet

Grey County, an upper-tier municipality in Ontario, Canada with over 100,000 inhabitants, needed to secure its critical data against ransomware and social engineering attacks. The county also sought to increase visibility across its systems, devices, and network. To meet this challenge, they partnered with Fortinet through a managed security service provider (MSSP).

Fortinet implemented a solution using FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls, FortiSIEM for centralized log management, and FortiEDR on hundreds of endpoints. This allowed Grey County to automate threat response, enable a zero-trust model, and create a secure hybrid-work environment. The county achieved enhanced data protection and network visibility, which led to significant staff time savings and an increased return on investment by allowing their IT team to pinpoint weaknesses and respond to incidents faster.
