Prysmian Group, a 140‑year‑old global leader in cable products and services operating in 50+ countries, faced a fragmented, post‑merger network that lacked visibility, consistent security, and the agility needed for a cloud‑first digital transformation across diverse environments from OT manufacturing sites to data‑intensive R&D centers. The company needed a unified, highly secure infrastructure to support rapid innovation, stringent security requirements, and a wide range of global connectivity options.

Prysmian selected Fortinet and deployed ~400 FortiGate next‑generation firewalls plus FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiSIEM (including virtual appliances on AWS) to centralize and automate security and event management. The new architecture delivered stronger threat protection, centralized policy control, improved flexibility, scalability and visibility of applications and data, and set the stage for further simplification and cost savings through built‑in Secure SD‑WAN.
