Case Study: Steelcase achieves unified on-premises and cloud data protection with Fortinet

A Fortinet Case Study

Preview of the Steelcase Case Study

Furniture Manufacturer Protects Data Onsite and in the Cloud

Steelcase, a global office-furniture manufacturer known for human-centered design, launched data-driven products like Workplace Advisor and Personal Assistant and expanded into Azure and AWS to support web and ecommerce needs. As cloud use and IoT endpoints grew, the company found native cloud controls lacked the logging, analytics and segmentation required to meet its security policies and to keep pervasive IoT devices isolated.

Steelcase extended its long-standing Fortinet deployment into the cloud—using FortiGate (physical and virtual), FortiWeb, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator, FortiMail, FortiAP/Switch, FortiClient and FortiCloud within the Fortinet Security Fabric—to provide VPN access, advanced traffic control, consolidated reporting and device segmentation. The result was unified on‑premise and multi‑cloud protection, closed visibility gaps, simplified management and training, more accurate web analytics by suppressing unwanted cloud-generated noise, and operational economies of scale.
