From Concept to Reality Designing Network Access Control Technology into a Smart Building Complex

A multinational Financial Company was building a new smart building complex and needed to secure thousands of IoT, employee, and corporate endpoints without sacrificing visibility or control. To protect the wired network from non-secure devices and cyberattacks, the company turned to Fortinet and its Network Access Control (NAC) solution.

Fortinet implemented NAC to validate every device at each connection, enforce network lockdown, and automatically quarantine noncompliant endpoints. The result was full visibility into all network activity, a secure environment for more than 10,000 endpoints, and automated tracking and reporting during construction, including progress reports as the installation scaled. Fortinet also enabled microsegmentation across over 200 VLANs, helping reduce the attack surface and strengthen compliance.
