A Fortinet Case Study
Hospital Central Services (HCSC) is a mid‑Atlantic healthcare support organization that provides laundry, linen and related services from 13 locations and relies on handheld scanners and VoIP for daily operations. Persistent downtime with its legacy MPLS network, slow manual failovers, and outsourced network/security management created reliability issues and heavy administrative burdens for HCSC’s two‑person IT team.
Working with ACSG, HCSC moved to a Fortinet Secure SD‑WAN architecture (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiExtender) with IPsec VPNs, automated ISP load‑balancing/failover and centralized policy templates tied to Active Directory. The rollout cut monthly network costs by about $5,000, reduced failover from hours or days to seconds, improved performance and security visibility, slashed routine admin tasks, and enabled operations staff to manage user VPN access.
