Fortinet Provides Scalable and Secure SD-WAN Solutions to Protect Vietnam’s Digital Banking Pioneer

An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBANK) is a leading Vietnamese retail bank with more than 1 million customers and 165 branches across 34 cities. As a digital-banking pioneer, ABBANK needed to strengthen its security posture and integrate multi-vendor tools while replacing costly, hard-to-manage MPLS routing to support broad WAN and branch connectivity amid rising phishing, ransomware, and malware threats.

ABBANK deployed Fortinet Secure SD-WAN with FortiGate Next‑Generation Firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer across its 165 sites (phase 1) and plans to extend to 100 ATM locations. The rollout—completed in about six months—improved threat mitigation and visibility, simplified centralized management and patching for a 12-person security team, enabled SD-WAN cost savings versus MPLS, and delivered over 30% lower investment costs compared with another vendor.
