Siemens deployed clustered Fortinet FortiGate appliances (1240B, 620B, 310B) as central UC firewalls, using the same software across platforms for easier integration and scalability, and leveraging firewall and IPS functions for protection. The solution delivered low latency (2–250 µs), high throughput and failover resilience to support hundreds of thousands of users, meet peak‑load and SLA requirements, and offer a competitive price‑performance ratio.
