Case Study: Large State Transit Agency achieves modernized, cloud-ready security and operational efficiency with Fortinet

A Fortinet Case Study

Preview of the Large State Transit Agency Case Study

Fortinet Protects a Large State Transit Agency by Modernizing and Driving Operations Forward

One of the largest state transit agencies — operating about 800 buses and serving over 200,000 riders daily — needed to keep its passenger-facing web apps, real-time systems, payment services and vendor portals secure and highly available. The head of cybersecurity faced challenges securing distributed locations, segmenting the network to contain breaches, enabling a cloud migration with direct internet access to private-cloud servers, and defending against increasingly sophisticated, AI-enabled attacks.

Partnering with Fortinet and its Professional Services team, the agency deployed FortiGate NGFWs (physical and VM), FortiSandbox, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiWeb, FortiClient EMS, FortiAuthenticator and FortiGuard AI-powered services to centralize management, quarantine threats, secure web applications and protect hybrid cloud traffic. The deployment improved visibility and response times, reduced staff effort for firewall management and deployments, simplified remote-work protections, and blocked hundreds of thousands of attacks in a single quarter.
